Due to my fun-packed schedule, I have not had a professional lesson this week. I did however take a little trip with my mum to the Riverside Industrial Park. I did not hit anything and both occupants of the car and the vehicle itself are unharmed. But I repeat, I DO NOT like that Micra!
I know I just have to get used to another car, but when I first started learning to drive my biggest problem (other than steering) was clutch control, and the Micra has the world's quietest biting point.
My mum swears it is the easiest car she has ever driven, but I remain stubbornly unconvinced.
Even on my very first lesson, I did not stall as often as I did on Sunday. I thought perhaps that my music was stopping me from hearing the biting point, so turned off Paolo Nutini, but to no avail.
It wasn't all bad, I managed to drive quite comfortably up and down the road, despite the inevitable rain, and took the roundabout perfectly-a blessing to my mum given my big sister's notorious aversion to roundabouts- but all attempts at manoeuvres which I can now usually perform without instruction, ended in failure, with mum and I glaring at each other.
Ah well, neither of us holds a grudge. The rest of my time has been dedicated to theory questions. Yes folks the hour is nigh when I must take, and preferably pass, my theory test.
I've got the question books, the CD-Rom, the highway code and even the CD sent by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) with the video showing you how to arrive on time for your test, sign in and other 'helpful' hints. I love these kind of educational films; because no matter how new they are, the actors in them seem to be stuck in a mid-80s time warp!
But all this revision was driving me ever so slightly crazy, so I took the only sensible route and went shoe shopping!
My test is tomorrow morning, wish me luck.
