HOYTE AIMING FOR ENGLAND: A ComeOnBoro.com EXCLUSIVE 22-11-08

ComeOnBoro's Elle Brunton caught up with Boro's newest defender Justin Hoyte to get his thoughts on returning to the team, the two home matches ahead and his personal goals for the season.

EB: "Last time we spoke you were just coming back from injury and were working hard to get back into the team, you must be delighted to be in the regular starting eleven?"

JH: "Yes it was great to get back after my injury. Wheater was doing well and the team was playing well but it is just good to get another chance to make my mark in the team. I have just got to play well and train hard."

EB: "You've got two home matches coming up, I assume it will be nice to play at home after two away matches?"

JH: "Yes, it will be really nice to play with the home support behind us. It is important for us against Bolton and especially against Newcastle."

EB: " Yes, you have the Newcastle derby at home coming up, a massive game for everyone in the north east..."

JH: "Obviously i've been involved in derbies before between Sunderland and Newcastle and I know how much they mean to the fans. When you speak to Boro fans they all say the same thing, it doesn't matter what else happens in the season as long as you we beat Newcastle.

"But we have the Bolton game coming up first and we need to focus on that, then we can start thinking about Newcastle."

EB: "Is there any news on Riggott's injury?"

JH: "No he has been ill for the last two days, he hasn't been in so I don't think he's been assessed to see how bad the injury is."

EB: "And Tuncay scored a hat-trick for Turkey... any chance he might do the same for Boro on Saturday?"

JH: (laughs) "Well he might be tired! hopefully not too tired. No, he'll be performing well, he has been brilliant for us this season and and it would be great if he got a hat-trick on Saturday!

EB: "And Stewart Downing was excellent for England, man of the match in my opinion, did you manage to catch the game?"

JH:
"Yes I watched the match, I agree, Stewy's playing really well for both England and Boro at the moment. He was fantastic the last two games and he is going to be an important player for us this season "

EB: "Your goal was to get back in the team, you have accomplished that, what are your goals now for the season?"

JH: "I just want to perform well for MFC. For me the goal is to do the best I can for the team, perform the best I can.

"My other personal goal is to get an England cap. If you play well for Middlesbrough you can get into the squad, Downing and Wheater have shown that."
