THE OBSERVER FANS' PANEL - BORO V MILLWALL - 21-11-10

Middlesbrough 0-1 Millwall

The fan's verdict, Elle Brunton, Observer reader: Was it a good match? It was a very bad day at the office – not exactly first-class entertainment. There was no creativity whatsoever. We had a few half-chances but nothing concrete. Nothing really changed after they scored, either – we didn't really react to it either positively or negatively. Overall, there wasn't much quality from either side.Who played well/who had a nightmare? Most of our good play came from the kids, Joe Bennett and Luke Williams. Otherwise we were pretty poor all-round. Tamika Mkandawire played well for Millwall, but Steve Morison missed an open net.

THE OBSERVER FANS' PANEL - BORO V BRISTOL CITY - 31-10-10

Middlesbrough 1 Bristol City 2

The fan's verdict, Elle Brunton, Observer reader: Was it a good match? We weren't as hesitant as we have been and there was definitely more confidence in the team. But we underestimated the opposition in the first half and the quality of our passing went downhill as the match went on. We need to work on the basics. The substitutions were made too late.

Who played well/who had a nightmare? Kris Boyd scored a good goal but missed a few chances, and there was plenty of effort from Matthew Bates. But there wasn't anyone in particular who really stood out and I would have struggled to pick a man of the match. It was good to see Luke Williams back from injury.
